Our Story
Snake Brook Records is Natick Massachusetts' premier recording studio created by artists for artists. Founded in 2023 by local audio engineers Chris Kennedy and Josh Saulenas. Chris and Josh both have extensive and unique backgrounds in the music industry and have worked at or operated numerous studios throughout their careers. The goal of opening Snake Brook Records was to provide a world class music recording, mixing, and mastering experience that's accessible and affordable to all types of creatives. With our convenient location, we are a great option for anyone in Natick, Framingham, Wellesley, Newton, Needham, Medfield, and beyond. Even those looking to escape the city for a day can be to Snake Brook Records in around 30 minutes!

Josh Saulenas AKA "SAULZ"
Owner / Engineer
Josh first picked up a guitar and began taking lessons when he was 7 years old. From that moment, it was clear to him that music would remain in his life forever. At 13 years old, Josh agreed to take on the responsibility of recording a demo with his current band and fell in love with the recording process. Josh slowly built a progressively more elaborate home recording setup at his parents house and spent every second of his spare time shadowing at local studios to learn the craft. After graduating from UMass Lowell’s Sound Recording Technology program in 2018, Josh opened a music studio in Western MA but relocated to Boston in 2020. Today, Josh embarks on this new venture with over a decade of experience working in recording studios, live sound and commercial AV design. Josh carries credits as a producer, recording engineer, mix engineer or mastering engineer on hundreds of tracks spanning a massive variety of genres. As a producer, “SAULZ”, has accrued 100K+ combined streams.
Chris Kennedy AKA "CKD"

Chris’ love for music began at a young age from his parents exposing him to many different types of performances. At age 11 he discovered GarageBand on his uncle’s iMac and quickly began producing music with his oldest cousin. Chris began taking drum lessons and started teaching himself music production while still in middle school. At 14, Chris dorned the "CKD" moniker, and was releasing instrumental music which started gaining traction on Tumblr and SoundCloud. He continued pursuing music throughout high school by joining the jazz band, taking music theory classes, and piano lessons. Soon after graduating from UMass Lowell’s Sound Recording Technology program in 2018, Chris interned at top studios in both Worcester and Boston, making valuable connections and solidifying his wealth of knowledge regarding audio engineering and music production. Today, Chris has over 7 years of experience working in recording studios, engineering sports broadcasts for ESPN, ACCN and NESN, and producing songs with millions of combined streams in a multitude of genres.
